Derby Film Festival

Don’t miss out on the 3rd Derby Film Festival which commences on 29th April and finishes on 8th May 2016. The festival is building on last year’s success with 25 previews and 10 days of films and events to enjoy.

The festival programmers have secured one of the films that is destined to be one of the independent cinema hits of the summer, Florence Foster Jenkins. The festival will kick off with this delightful comedy drama before taking a ten day journey around the globe with films from China, Iran, USA, Brazil, Sweden, France, Finland, Turkey and Japan!

They’ve looked beyond the walls of QUAD for this festival and are doing screenings at Derby Museum and a life music accompanied screening of The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Derby Cathedral.

Their special guests are as much a part of the festival as the films and this year, Derby is delighted to welcome Simon Callow to the festival to talk about his career.

The second weekend of the festival will be the Fantastiq weekend where fantasy, horror and sci-fi films will be screened. That weekend, they have Barbara Shelley coming along to discuss her many years as an actress for Hammer Studios, Village of the Damned and television shows like The Avengers and Doctor Who.
